Now the miracle story...... about 25 meters futher I walked upon a NVA soldier in his foxhole with his AK47 pointed at me. Instinctively
I hastily through up my M16 at him and I had put it in Rock & Roll (Fully Automatic). Then all of a sudden he threw down his AK47 and began gesturing Chu Hoy and bowing with his hands cupped together that he was surrendering to me!
He had a badly wounded buddy in the foxhole with him. He could have mowed me in half with his AK47 assault rifle. The only thing that I can say on this subject is that my Lord intervened.
I tell everyone that my Lord has granted me 9 lives and I have used up 8 of them. 6=In Viet Nam 1=I had a bad heart attack in 2000 (my heart suffered great damage...the Cardiologist told me that I lost from 55 down to 25 pumping infraction) and that the whole bottom of my heart is dead tissue. Since 2000 my heart is back up to low 50s pumping infraction thru my exercising regularly. I lost another life in 2001 with a serious stroke (caused from a blood clot that had formed in the dead heart tissue.
I ask my lord everyday for forgiveness of my taking of human life I know that was war, and I had to license to kill but that doesn't ease my feeling any. I have a conscience, and I have to re-live those scenes over and over and over again in my mind. I also ask through him that the families of all the people that I killed will forgive me for what I did to them by killing their loved ones. I forgive both the NVA and VC for killing us.
I can understand why my brothers in arms suffer from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I do not because I have a very close relationship with Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior of mankind. I am doing my very best to follow the deal that I made with Jesus 41 years ago.
The following scripture gives me comfort in my taking of Human Life. I just substitute my name for PILATE, then I substitute Ho Chi Minh for HE, then I substitute my victims for the HIM (Jesus).
John 19
10 Then saith Philate (Ken) unto him (My Victims), speakest thou not unto me? Knowest thou not that I have power to Crucify thee, and have power to release thee?
11 Jesus (my victims) answered, Thou couldest have no power at all againt me, except it were given thee from above: therefore HE (Ho Chi Minh) that delivered me (My Victims) unto thee hath the greater sin.
